I took my full-spectrum sensor converted Olympus on a short walk with friends in the Fowlmere RSPB reserve, and for the first time I used a 550nm Kolarivision supercolor filter.
These images have had just basic colour adjustments in the Capture One raw converter: getting effective false colour IR images usually needs radical manipulation in Photoshop, but this Kolarivision filter aims to emulate the old Kodak Aerochrome infra-red slide film, and the output is much easier to handle during post processing.
Mature alternative rock fans might recall original Aerochrome effects from the cover of Frank Zappa’s 1969 album ‘Hot Rats’.
