I had nice light for an afternoon visit to the Olympus Image Space gallery in Bermondsey, south London for a street photography exhibition, followed by a screening at the Regent St Cinema of Gerald Fox's rarely shown documentary "Leaving Home, Coming Home" about the influential American photographer and film-maker Robert Frank ("The Americans").
I thought the gallery exhibition was distinctly underwhelming, but I enjoyed making short sets about outdoor smoking office workers and blurry red buses, and the documentary film painted an illuminating portrait of this intermittently grumpy, but honest and insightful artist, whose wife Leaf was a treasure.
