This was a last-minute transfer since the central heating boiler in our original destination (the Bell in Walberswick) had broken! We were lucky with the weather on the day we decided to park at Southwold East Harbour and walk up to the old railway line, and then back in to the town via the Common: it was chilly and breezy, but gloriously sunny.

The old black fish sheds and boat yards run up to the Harbour Inn, where we had a warming lunch, in my case washed down with a perfect pint of Adnams Broadside.

After lunch we crossed the bridge towards Walberswick for a while, then retraced our steps along the old railway route past the water tower and across the common in to Southwold.
