North Norfolk coast in February

I had a few days based in Wells-next-the-Sea in mid-February with my cousin John, which co-incided with a spell of fine, dry weather. We’d arranged a day’s birding with the excellent Marcus Nash of the Bird ID Company ( http://norfolkbirdtours.wordpress.com/ ) and we had an excellent and informative day visiting the East Bank at Cley, Holkham beach and RSPB Titchwell.

We had some memorable sightings, including a Glaucous Gull at Cley, Rock Pipits and Shore Larks and a Stonechat at Holkham (we also saw the uncommon Dartford warbler, but I failed to get a sharp image!), and a roost of 30 Marsh harriers, plus a solitary Hen harrier at Titchwell to end the day.
