Baie St Paul

This was as far as we travelled north-east, stopping briefly on the way in a couple of small villages, and then stopping in the Cap Tourmente nature reserve and passing Quebec City, to both of which we would return.

Baie St Paul is a pretty, prosperous historical town on the north bank of the St Lawrence. The centre is given over to upmarket souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants, but a little further out the historical buildings come to the fore and timber work, glass, subtle paint colours, glass reflections, autumn colours and bold shadows made some pleasing compositions in the strong fall light.
